This year-long celebration of retro rituals (following Mixtapes and Busy Signal) is all about the tactile, buzzy energy of the pre-digital era.
The Design: After Dark meets Nonna’s Kitchen
The Flying Mokas print is a high-spirited tribute to the 90s. Inspired by the surreal "Flying Toasters" screensaver from the iconic After Dark software, I’ve swapped the toast for the heartbeat of the studio: the Italian Moka pot.
I originally designed this print as a student at FIT, when our class was challenged to build a themed collection from scratch. It’s been tucked in my archives, waiting for the perfect moment to soar. Featuring winged stovetop espresso makers flying through a field of coffee beans that softly fade into the background, the print is wrapped in the season’s most irresistible color—a bold, sunny yellow that sits right at the intersection of a vintage Italian espresso bar and a high-end street style shoot.
The Signature Studio Line
As a Crafter’s Satchel, this bag represents the pinnacle of our textile studio. Unlike our African print project bags, the Satchel features my original artwork digitally printed on premium canvas and is finished with our exclusive signature logo lining, marking it as a genuine product of our Brooklyn textile studio.
