Each ornament in this collection was born from the creative spirit of making do with what we have. Crafted from my African fabric remnants left over from making project bags, these ornaments transform beautiful scraps into something meaningful.
What makes these pieces especially remarkable: while designing these ornaments over several months, I had no idea I was creating the Dame Dame symbol—an Adinkra symbol representing craftiness, intelligence, and strategy. It was only later, while researching other symbols, that I discovered my design had naturally evolved into this powerful emblem of craftiness and resourcefulness. Perhaps that's fitting, given that these ornaments themselves embody the very essence of Dame Dame — using what we've got and transforming it into something special through creativity and strategy.
Each ornament features thoughtfully paired African print combinations, making every piece truly one-of-a-kind. The bold patterns and rich colors bring warmth and cultural significance to your holiday décor, while honoring the tradition of waste-not craftsmanship.
A beautiful convergence of accident and intention, remnant and purpose, creativity and tradition.
