Scarves are Back for Mother's Day

Scarves are Back for Mother's Day

Silk scarves are in stock for Mother’s Day! And now that I am super comfortable with using the rolled hem foot on my sewing machine — the scarves have a machine rolled hem. With matching silk thread, of course. Scarves come in two sizes — 25x25 and 35x35 — are stitched to order, and ship within 5 business days. There are less than four of each style in stock. Bloomscape is my go-to these days and the perfectionist in me was thrilled to find silk thread in the exact shade of orange I needed. Something I learned recently… If I use the colors in the trend reports, I can almost always find the exact thread color I need. This is because the manufacturers are working with the same information as designers. Seems really obvious now, but it’s not a thing I ever thought about before becoming a textile designer. File that under Reasons to Go to Textile Trade Shows. #themoreyouknow

When I first started making these scarves, I was intimidated by the rolled hem foot on the sewing machine and also very unwilling to practice on any of the silk scarves I had in stock, for fear that I would destroy them. Since I had a few of the We’re Not Going Back scarves left over, I decided to practice on them and got the hang of it pretty quickly. The machine rolled hem is narrow, it looks professional and I’m happy with it. I hope you will be, too.
